International Financial Management
This course allowed me to assess the needs of and to justify the advantages accruing from expanding into international markets. I was able to explore the international integration of financial markets and analyze implications that may suit a financial manager. I plan on continuing to apply my critical thinking skills in order to identify international financial issues and evaluate information concerned with the financial management of the firms that operate in the increasingly globalized business environment.
Introduction To Marketing
Through this course, I was able to learn consumer behavior and analyze marketing problems from local, international, and various cultural perspectives. I understood the importance of analyzing a company's marketing strategy in order to recognize appropriate and inappropriate marketing alternatives. Marketing a company internationally can create bigger opportunities for business expansion, and through this class I was able to understand how corporations analyze which countries they should market themselves in.
Strategic Management
After taking this course, I was able to better understand how to expand a business internationally, but also understand how corporations analyze which countries they should market themselves in. I am now able to identify and assess the impact of opportunities and threats in a company’s global, regional, and local environment, in addition to its industry and set of competitors.
American History Since 1877
Taking this course allowed me to become aware of how American history since 1877 has shaped the world and defined how Americans understand who they are today. Through this class, I read and discussed the emergence of the United States as a world power, the industrialization of the American economy, labor and social reform, and themes of race and civil rights. This course allowed me to understand how American society industrialized during the late 19th century and the impact it had in today's world.
Introduction of Environmental Science
Taking Introduction of Environmental Science allowed me to better understand the many complex issues that we are currently facing worldwide, but especially locally surrounding the human ecological footprint, global climate change, degradation of water resources, and reliance on fossil fuels for energy. I have lived on the beach for 10+ years and have constantly witnessed major flooding after rainfall, which has motivated me to learn more about what can be done to mitigate the effects of climate change in my community. I also feel compelled to share with others about the topics I have learned in this course, in order to tackle this global issue together.
